Scope
These terms govern the use of the MultiVolt application and of this website. The provider is the sole trader named in the legal notice.
The application is obtained, and any subscription entered into, through the Apple App Store or Google Play. To that extent the terms of the respective platform operator apply in addition; your contracting party for the purchase is the platform operator and not the provider.
Subject matter
MultiVolt reads measurements from battery management systems over Bluetooth and displays them: state of charge, voltage, current, cell voltages, temperature, protection flags, a combined figure for several batteries and an estimate of the remaining runtime.
The application does not intervene in the battery
Read requests only are sent. The application switches no MOSFETs, triggers no disconnect and writes nothing into the memory of the battery management system. There is no entitlement to protective, disconnect or control functions, and these are expressly not part of the contract.
The scope of functions is defined by the description in the store and on this website at the time of purchase. Statements about planned but unimplemented functions are non-binding and create no entitlement.
Licence
Obtaining the application grants a simple, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use it on the devices assigned to you, within the terms of the respective store.
The following are not permitted in particular: transfer, rental or sublicensing, removal or alteration of copyright notices, and reverse engineering, decompilation or disassembly, unless mandatory law permits it.
Subscription
The application can be used free of charge indefinitely for monitoring one battery; demo mode with simulated batteries is likewise free indefinitely. Monitoring several batteries at once requires a subscription (MultiVolt Pro, up to six batteries).
The subscription renews automatically until it is cancelled. Cancellation must take place at the latest 24 hours before the end of the current period; it is carried out in the settings of the App Store or Google Play. Billing is handled through the account held there.
Where a free trial is offered, it converts automatically into a paid subscription at its end unless cancelled beforehand. Any unused part of a trial period lapses when a subscription is purchased.
An expired subscription deletes nothing
After expiry, batteries beyond the free allowance are merely suspended. Their setup — name, mounting location, protocol, rated capacity and individual thresholds — remains on the device and is available again immediately upon renewal.
Prices
Only the price displayed in the App Store or Google Play immediately before purchase is authoritative, including the currency and tax shown there. Price information on this website is indicative and creates no entitlement.
Price changes for running subscriptions are governed by the rules of the respective platform operator, which notifies you and obtains your consent where required.
Cancellation
A subscription is cancelled exclusively through the account settings of the respective store. The provider can neither conclude nor terminate nor refund subscriptions.
After cancellation the paid period remains fully usable; the application then continues to run within the free scope.
Availability and changes
No uninterrupted availability and no freedom from errors is promised. The application requires suitable hardware, a supported operating system and a battery management system using one of the supported protocols.
The provider may develop the application further, change functions and discontinue individual functions, provided the essential subject matter of a running subscription is not thereby removed. Support for a particular battery management system may cease if its manufacturer changes the protocol.
Liability
MultiVolt is not a safety device
The application serves to display and record. It does not replace any protective function of the battery management system. Low-voltage protection, overcharge protection and overcurrent and temperature disconnect must be configured in the battery management system and be effective without a mobile device. Warnings from the application appear only while it is open; there is no background operation and there are no notifications.
Displayed values come unchanged from the battery management system of the respective battery. The provider does not measure anything itself and gives no warranty as to the correctness, completeness or accuracy of these values. Projections such as the remaining runtime are estimates based on the most recently observed values.
The provider is liable without limitation for intent and gross negligence and for damage arising from injury to life, body or health. In cases of slight negligence liability arises only for breach of material contractual obligations and is limited in amount to the foreseeable damage typical of the contract. Mandatory claims under product liability law and mandatory consumer rights remain unaffected.
Liability is excluded in particular for damage to batteries, vehicles or other property resulting from a warning not being displayed, not being displayed in time or being displayed with incorrect content, from there being no connection to the battery, or from the application not being open.
Changes to these terms
These terms may be adjusted where changes to the application, the legal situation or the terms of the platform operators make it necessary. For running subscriptions, changes take effect from the following billing period. The version published here, bearing the date shown above, is the applicable one.
Governing law and jurisdiction
Austrian law applies, excluding the UN Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods. For consumers this choice of law applies only insofar as it does not deprive them of the protection of mandatory provisions of the law of the state in which they have their habitual residence.
Jurisdiction for consumers is governed by mandatory statutory provisions. Otherwise the court having subject-matter jurisdiction at the provider’s registered office is competent.
